BCHL Quesnel Millionaires folding....?

Editor's Note - I hope that this turns out to be false, because if true - CRD Directors for Electoral Areas A, B, C and I & Quesnel City Council could find the battle to have the $30 million Multi-Centre built that much harder to wage with the public without a Junior hockey team to be a major tenant.  It'll be interesting to see if this topic comes up at all tomorrow evening at 7pm in Quesnel Council Chambers to discuss the future direction of the Multi-Centre project.  Also interesting that Quesnel Councillor Ron Paull was quoted but not the Mayor...?  Hmm.....

From the Quesnel Cariboo Observer:

The future of the BCHL Quesnel Millionaires franchise in Quesnel is in jeopardy an anonymous source close to the team said.

Rumours, regarding the future of the Millionaires, have been circulating for more than a week now and have made their way to (Quesnel) City Hall.

"I've heard the rumours," Quesnel city councillor Ron Paull said.

The decision, regarding the future of the Mills in Quesnel, rests in part with what Mayor Mary Sjostrom and the city have to say Tuesday during the information session on the proposed Mutli-Centre, the source said.

However, speaking notes provided to city council for the Multi-Centre information session did not include a reference to the Mills, Paull noted.

Bob Sales, president of the Quesnel Millionaires hockey club and Dave Sales, executive director with the BCHL, have not returned phone calls.

The other interesting thing in the article Steve is that they constantly forget that its a JPC(so that makes it a regional district and city project). Not just a city of Quesnel project. (big sigh)
