Proposed 2013 Cariboo RD Budget impacts on Quesnel/WL Residents'

Next Thursday at 5:30pm -- the Cariboo Regional District Board consisting of 12 Rural Directors and the 4 Municipal Directors from Wells, Quesnel, Williams Lake and 100 Mile House will meet as a Finance Committee to review the 2013-17 financial plans for the roughly 105 services that the Cariboo Regional District provides to the roughly 65,000 residents' of the Cariboo-Chilcotin

In a separate report to the Committee - the Cariboo RD CAO Janis Bell will report that, after a few minor adjustment to the 2013-2017 Financial Plan, total tax requisition will drop by 1.3% or $287,724 in 2013 than that same tax requisition sought in 2012 - read her report here

While the lion's share of the Cariboo Regional District's services affect rural residents' only, there is still a fair number that affect municipal residents in Williams Lake & Quesnel and I'll go over the potential impact in 2013 below:

City of Quesnel residents:

North Cariboo Recreation and Parks - rate to remain steady (2012/2013) at $130.99 per $100,000 of residential assessment

Library - in 2012: $36.07 per $100,000 of residential assessment.  For 2013: $32.47 per $100,000 of residential assessment

9-1-1 Emergency Telephone - in 2012: $8.53 per $100,000 of residential assessment.  For 2013: $8.96 per $100,000 of residential assessment

General Administration - in 2012: $12.19 per $100,000 of residential assessment.  For 2013: $11.57 per $100,000 of residential assessment

Governance - in 2012: $1.93 per $100,000 of residential assessment.  For 2013: $1.83 per $100,000 of residential assessment

City of Williams Lake residents:

Central Cariboo Recreation -- In 2012: $86.69 per $100,000 of residential assessment.  For 2013: $91.04 of residential assessment

Central Cariboo Arts/Culture -- In 2012: $4.77 per $100,000 of residential assessment.  In 2013: $5.10 per $100,000 of residential assessment
