In today's Kamloops Daily News - former Kamloops Mayor Mel Rothenburger talks about the possibility of a fight for the TNRD (Thompson-Nicola Regional District) Chair between current TNRD Area 'M' Director Randy Murray & Kamloops Director (and Councillor) Ken Christian. The TNRD Board of Directors will select, like their 27 other Regional District Board counterparts, their 2014 Chair in December. Read Mr. Rothenberger's article here
More closer to home - the Cariboo Regional District Board will also select their Chair for 2014 at their meeting in early December. At this point, it is my expectation that Area G Director Al Richmond will be selected again for a 6th term as Chair of the Cariboo Regional District. Director Richmond has done an excellent job as Chair and there isn't any evidence, at this time, that this Board desires a change in the Office of Chair - Cariboo Regional District. Should Al Richmond be re-elected next year (and I expect that he will) and is elected as Chair of the Cariboo RD for the next 3 years consecutively, Director Richmond will beat the record set by current Area A Director Ted Armstrong as longest serving Chair of the Cariboo Regional District -- Director Armstrong was Chair of the Cariboo RD for 8 years running.
