Upcoming Grant Opportunities - period ending Nov 30th, 2013

The Cariboo Regional District's Manager of Communications (S. Burich) has informed me of some upcoming grant opportunities and I thought I would share the details with my readers.  See below:

BC Try-It Days Grants | Deadline: October 14, 2013 | @ViaSport

Local sports organizations, First Nations and municipalities may apply for a grant of up to $300 to organize a two-hour sporting event between November 23-30, 2013 to celebrate Sports Day in Canada. The event must focus on attracting new participants who are not already involved in the specific sport being offered by providing the public with an opportunity to experience the sport or learn a new sport skill. Local governments are invited to apply to the Age-friendly BC program for grants of up to $20,000 to help ensure their community better meets the needs of its older residents. Eligible projects include outdoor spaces and buildings, transportation, housing, civic participation and employment, health services, and more. EcoAction Community Funding Program | Deadline: November 1, 2013 | T: @environmentca

The EcoAction Community Funding Program funds projects across Canada to encourage Canadians to take action to address clean air, clean water, climate change and nature issues, and to build the capacity of communities to sustain these activities into the future. Non-profit organizations are eligible to apply for grants of up to 50% of the total project costs, to a maximum of $100,000.
