Courtesy of the Cariboo Regional District:

On Wednesday, April 30 at 7 p.m., the Cariboo Regional District Williams Lake Area Branch Library will be presenting a free screening of the National Film Board documentary Chi (2013), directed by Anne Wheeler.

The film documents the journey of Canadian actress Babz Chula, who convinces director Anne Wheeler to accompany her on a journey to Kerala, where Babz will seek cancer treatment from a renowned Ayurvedic healer. While at first Babz is disappointed by the clinic, everyone is amazed as her condition quickly begins to show marked signs of improvement.
When she returns home, however, it is discovered that her cancer has actually progressed. Nonetheless, Babz continues to allow Wheeler to bear witness to her journey, and the result is a film that is poignant, heartbreaking, and remarkable.

Further information about this event and other National Film Board screenings is available by calling 250-392-3630 or email wlake@cariboord.bc.ca
