The City of Williams Lake is pleased to announce that Erick Peterson will be joining the organization as Fire Chief, starting on July 3, 2018. Erick has served on the Delta Fire Department for the past 15 years, and is a leader in Emergency Planning, Emergency Social Services, Public Education, Fire Prevention and Fire Operations.

Erick was deployed to Williams Lake by Emergency Management BC to assist in the Cariboo Regional District’s Emergency Operations Centre during the unprecedented fire season, and is looking forward to relocating his family to Williams Lake.

"The City of Williams Lake looks forward to welcoming Erick to his new position," says Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb. "We are fortunate to have someone of Erick’s calibre lead our Fire Department, and we are confident that his leadership will greatly benefit our community."

Why must we almost always hire from "outside"? We have just as just as qualified candidates within our Fire Dept.
