The Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex was evacuated briefly the evening of October 15, 2018 at approximately 6:30 pm when staff noticed the smell of smoke coming from the rear roof area of the pool.
The Fire Department responded quickly, located the source of the smoke and extinguished it. The Fire Department determined quickly that there was no further threat and the CMRC was re-opened about an hour later.
There was very minimal damage to the CMRC and it is business as usual in all areas of the facility.
