Williams Lake Council Meeting Procedures during COVID-19

In accordance with Provincial recommendations, the City of Williams Lake will be holding Council meetings electronically through videoconferencing technology during the pandemic. As there will be no in-person meeting for the public to attend, City of Williams Lake Council invites residents to tune in live via the City’s Youtube page (https://www.youtube.com/CityWL) as an alternative to attending proceedings in person. Public transparency and accountability remain Council’s top priority.

The online meetings will also be recorded and accessible following the live feeds for anyone unable to stream live. As always, Council agenda packages and minutes may continue to be accessed via the City’s website (www.williamslake.ca) or Council Meetings portal page (https://williamslake.civicweb.net/Portal/).

“The City is still working hard to continue providing services to our residents and ensuring that business continues as best as possible during these challenging times,” said Mayor Walt Cobb. “This is a very different way of holding a Council meeting, but I look forward to continuing to work with the rest of Council to ensure the City gets through this, even if that means working from our home offices. I want to thank staff for working hard to ensure the City was ready to move in this direction when we needed it.”

Stay tuned to the City’s website (www.williamslake.ca) for notices of any Special Meetings that may be scheduled. Notices will also be posted to the front windows of City Hall and on our social media platforms. Members of the public are also encouraged to sign up for Council Meeting notifications at https://williamslake.civicweb.net/Portal/Subscribe.aspx.
