On March 30, 2021, the City of Williams Lake activated its Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) at Level 2 in response to landslide activity in the vicinity of Frizzi Road and North Mackenzie Avenue. The slide damaged a section of the City’s storm line. Since the initial slide, there does not appear to be any further movement, and the EOC has now been reduced to Level 1.
City crews continue to monitor the area, and plans are in place should the slide worsen or threaten the adjacent sanitary line. Proactive measures have been undertaken to protect and respond to any damage, and the City is actively developing remediation plans.
We ask that the public please avoid the area until further notice.
The City of Williams Lake will continue to monitor the situation from its Emergency Operations Centre and will provide updates as they are available.
