Forestry Intern The Quesnel Forestry Initiatives Program will host an
intern from the University of British Columbia for six
months. This position will build on Quesnel as a hub for forestry
innovation by mapping a network of small and medium enterprises to identify
opportunities and niche markets. Rethinking forestry manufacturing will
ensure the sustainability of forestry in our area. |

Shiraoi House, the new home to
Moonshine Coffee Ltd. Council approved a
five year lease with local coffee roaster, Moonshine Coffee Ltd. for the upper floor of
Shiraoi House. Moonshine Coffee Ltd. plans to operate a coffee roasting
business, food and beverage cafe and community gathering place that supports
local vendors and artisans. |
Bailey Helicopters Ltd. Council approved a
five year lease with Bailey Helicopters Ltd. for office space in
the Operations Building at the Quesnel Regional Airport. |
Baker Drive Sanitary Sewer Main Following damages and
loss of a sewer main during the 2020 freshet, the City has now received
recovery plan approval from Emergency Management B.C. for the replacement of sanitary sewer service to a portion of
Baker Drive. Construction is
scheduled to start this spring and be completed by the end of July. Emergency
access will be maintained as much as possible, however, residents and traffic
using Baker Drive beyond the Dog Park will be inconvenienced during portions
of this project while the work is taking place. Follow the Quesnel

Outdoor Cafe Bylaw Amendment -
Begbie's Restaurant & Pub A Council approved amendment to the Outdoor Cafe Bylaw
will see another local eatery expanding with a roadside seating
area. Begbie's Restaurant & Pub is planning a large-scale
patio cafe on the 500 block of Reid Street. |
Quesnel Downtown Association
- Downtown Lighting Project Council approved writing
a letter of support for the Quesnel Downtown
Associations' grant application to Community Foundations of Canada
for funding for a downtown lighting project aimed at improving safety
and enhancing beautification. |
BC Farmers Market - Thank you! Council will forward a
letter to the Ministry of Health, thanking the Minister for the annual
funding contribution to our local Farmers' Market Nutrition Coupon Program. |
