The Minerals North Conference Association (MNCA) is pleased to announce Quesnel will be the host of the 32nd annual Minerals North Conference and Trade Show in May 2023. Minerals North is the annual gathering of northern BC communities and its minerals sector. It is an ideal opportunity for learning about current activity in mining and exploration in northern British Columbia, a venue for establishing business contacts, and a forum for healthy dialogue leading to responsible resource development.
“Mining has long been an important factor of the economy in Quesnel and the surrounding communities. After the last two years of restrictions on gatherings and social events, we are happy to have another opportunity to host this important annual conference in 2023,” said City of Quesnel Mayor Bob Simpson.
Due to COVID, Minerals North has not been held since 2019. MNCA President Andrew Webber noted “the timing of bringing back Minerals North could not be better. The level of exploration activity and variety and scale of minerals projects in northern BC are very high. And with its own historic ties to mining and its excellent facilities, Quesnel is the perfect location for hosting an event of the size of Minerals North.”
Typically, in parallel with the Conference and Trade Show, there will be pre-conference tours and workshops, plus education programs in local schools and colleges. Local suppliers and non-profit groups will be engaged to provide services to the conference, making it truly a community-wide event.
