From the City of Williams Lake:
Over the past six months, the City of Williams Lake has begun to provide services and resources to support event organizers in their endeavor to bid on and host events. Event hosting is an emerging market on the international stage and one that has recently been identified as a possible area of economic development for the City of Williams Lake.
One of the first achievements in this initiative is the development of a free online centralized resource for event organizers, the Event Hosting Guide, which is essentially a “Cole’s Notes” on how to plan an event. Topics such as budgeting, marketing, sponsorship, fundraising, as well as logistical considerations such as liquor licensing, insurance, key contacts, municipal/provincial policies that govern public events, and even some tips on environmentally friendly event practices are all covered in the Event Hosting Guide.
The goal of the Event Hosting Guide is to provide organizers with practical information that will help support and facilitate the event organization process
