Taseko Mines to re-submit Prosperity Mine proposal

At last night's Williams Lake Council meeting, Mayor Kerry Cook announced that Taseko Mines would be running ads in both local newspapers (Tribune/Advisor) stating that they are still committed to the Prosperity Mine project

Also - Mayor Cook addressed Walt Cobb's column in last week's Williams Lake Tribune in which he suggested Williams Lake Council had put all of its' economic "eggs" into the Prosperity Mine project which she categorically denied and stated that the City would survive this latest economic news and work was underway on various economic initiatives and that the City's Economic Development would soon come forward with new initiatives that the City has been working on, but in typical Cook fashion gave no examples.  She also stated that Council met with the new owners of the Prosperity Ridge site (location of current Wal-Mart) and that they intend to fullly develop the remainder of the vacant land (about 70 acres)
