Quesnel Council Highlights - July 4th Meeting

Way paved for St. Laurent project

A complete revitalization of the 200 and 300 blocks of St. Laurent Avenue under the Quesnel Works: Capital Reinvestment Program will go ahead this summer. Council approved a new budget of $1,007,467 after the tender process showed the project could not be completed within the original budget of $890,000 (which was first approved in 2010). The project will see complete street re-paving, new curb, gutter and sidewalk, drainage improvements and a new storm sewer system. The tender was awarded to the low bidder, Jacob Brothers Construction Ltd. out of Surrey, who will use several local subcontractors.
