Flooding Alert in the City of Quesnel

From the City of Quesnel website:

The BC River Forecast Centre has issued a flood warning for the Upper Fraser River, including Quesnel. The high water is expected to be temporary, the result of extensive rainfall to the north. The City does not expect to have to issue evacuation alerts at this time. Check back often for updates.

The North Fraser Drive loop in West Quesnel remains closed - traffic may use the Elliott Street access to the Moffat Bridge.

The City continues to monitor water levels on a regular basis to ensure public safety while also monitoring infrastructure such as roads, trails, and water and sewer lines.

■Please keep clear of riverbanks, as they can be very slippery during high water events.
■ The fast-moving and cold water also presents a risk.
■Keep close watch over children and pets.
