Breaking News - Scott Nelson wants to be WL Mayor again

From the Rush website:

SCOTT NELSON HAS ENTERED THE RACE TO BECOME THE NEXT MAYOR OF WILLIAMS LAKE.

THE BUSINESSMAN AND FORMER MAYOR SAYS HE’S RUNNING BECAUSE HE FEELS THE CITY NEEDS TO GET BACK ON TRACK ECONOMICALLY.

HE SAYS KERRY COOK HAS COST THE CITY $200,000 IN GOLDEN HANDSHAKES AND OVER $500,000 IN COST OVERRUNS AT THE CITY’S NEW FIREHALL.

NELSON SAYS THE CITY NEEDS MORE JOBS, FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY AND A FURTHER REDUCTION IN CRIME.

HE SAYS HIS PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT DURING HIS TIME IN OFFICE WAS BRINGING WALMART TO TOWN.

NELSON WAS MAYOR OF WILLIAMS LAKE FROM 2005 UNTIL 2008 AND WAS ALSO A CITY COUNCILLOR FOR 12 YEARS.

With 3 people in the Mayor's Race for Williams Lake Council (and not likely any further candidates forthcoming prior to the October 14th deadline) - it will be most interesting to follow how the race for Mayor - City of Williams Lake - will unfold and see how City Councillor candidates state or do not state their preference for Mayor, like City Councillor Sue Zacharias has (Ms. Zacharias prefers Kerry Cook continuing as Mayor)

What a joke. Crime was rampant when he was mayor. So were management salaries
It's pretty sad that your greatest achievement is bringing a wal-mart to town.
by the way, some of the fire hall blame rests on Scott.

Hey aren't two of his properties the biggest "hot spots" for crime?

Ya......good work Scotty.

I live at one of his properties and living anywhere in the downtown area - you will get the odd problem and the RCMP do their job. But the property I live at has improved dramatically since he bought it
