Quesnel & District Leisure Services will host the popular Artists in the Market event at the Quesnel Market - Helen Dixon site on Saturday July 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free and set within the regular market stalls.
Twelve tents will feature local artists demonstrating, selling and showing their art work. A wide variety of art forms are represented this year, including: water colour; acrylic and oil painting; painted rocks; wildlife art; chainmail jewelry; prints; photography; pottery; and more.
"It is great to see the diversity and quality of art work produced by artists within Quesnel," said Elizabeth Waldorf, the Arts Program Coordinator at the Quesnel & District Arts and Recreation Centre. "This event is always fun and interesting - it's a great setting within a central area of the city and gives the public who are not accustomed to visiting art galleries or taking art instruction the opportunity to see art and the techniques involved in making art."
