In October - there are a number of key dates that voters/candidates should be aware of:
Tuesday, October 4th at 9:00am - Start of Official Nomination Period for candidates for School Districts #27 and 28, Cariboo Regional District (Electoral Area Directors), Cities of Williams Lake/Quesnel and the Districts of 100 Mile House and Wells. Note - between today and Oct 18th - an elector of Wells, Quesnel, Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, Cariboo Regional District (Electoral Areas) or School Districts #27/28 (an elector in any of the Trustee Zones), another candidate or the local Chief Election Officer may challenge the contents of a candidate's nomination papers in BC Provincial Court - as per Section 75(2) of the Local Government Act - see here
Tuesday, October 11th - Local Governments/School Board must give notice of the 1st Advance Voting opportunity on Wednesday, November 9th from 8am - 8pm.
Friday, October 14th at 4pm - Close of Official Nomination Period for candidates for School Districts #27 and 28, Cariboo Regional District (Electoral Area Directors), Cities of Williams Lake/Quesnel and the Districts of 100 Mile House and Wells
Tuesday, October 18th at 4pm - Close of Candidate Challenge Period as per Section 75(2) of the Local Government Act
Friday, October 21st at 4:00pm - Finalization of Candidate List for all Local Governments/School Boards
Tuesday, October 24th at 4:00pm - Declaration of Election by Voting or Acclamation by the local Chief Election Officer
