Today, CivicInfo BC released its preliminary municipal voter turnout figures for this past Saturday's civic elections' in BC - view their press release here with the initial figures here
In the Cariboo-Chilcotin:
Wells - 167 estimated voters' with 97 local voters' casting a ballot with a voter turnout percentage of 58.9%
Quesnel - 7,069 estimated voters' with 2,843 local voters' casting a ballot with a voter turnout percentage of 40.22%
Williams Lake - 7,649 estimated voters' with 3,638 local voters' casting a ballot with a voter turnout percentage of 47.56%
100 Mile House - 1,265 estimated voters' with 457 local voters' casting a ballot with a voter turnout percentage of 36.13%
Note - Municipal Councils in Belcarra, Canal Flats, Enderby, Fraser Lake, Hazelton, Highlands, Lake Cowichan, Lytton, Mackenzie, Port Edward, Salmo, and Warfield (12 municipal governments) were all acclaimed (Mayor/Councillor)
So, what did each elected muncipal councillor receive as a percentage of all votes cast?:
Wells - Richard Wright (79% of all votes cast), Judy Campbell (70% of all votes cast), Virginia Wilkins (69% of all votes cast), and Mike Wallace (67% of all votes cast) - 97 out of 165 voters' cast a ballot
Quesnel - Ed Coleman (61% of all votes cast), Scott Elliott (59% of all votes cast), Mike Cave (57% of all votes cast), Laurey-Anne Roodenburg (47% of all votes cast), Sushil Thapar (47% of all votes cast), and John Briscoe (43% of all votes cast) - 2,843 out of 7,069 voters' cast a ballot
Williams Lake - Laurie Walters (63% of all votes cast), Surinderpal Rathor (56% of all votes cast), Sue Zacharias (55% of all votes cast), Ivan Bonnell (48% of all votes cast), Geoff Bourdon (41% of all votes cast) and Danica Hughes (32% of all votes cast) - 3,638 out of 7,649 voters' cast a ballot
