#Quesnel City Council Meetings closed to public due to Ministerial Orders

Courtesy of the City of Quesnel:

Recent Ministerial Orders on gatherings and events from the Province of British Columbia require that, effective immediately, restrictions to public attending Council Meetings in person must be put in place. Due to this order, City of Quesnel Council Meetings will no longer be open for the public to attend in-person.

The City of Quesnel will hold electronic Council Meetings until updates are provided or orders are lifted by the Province of BC. The media will be invited to attend Council Meetings via video conference. The restriction to public attendance also includes Standing Committee meetings.

We realize this is not ideal, but the City is taking the necessary steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The health and safety of the public, media, City Council and Staff are our top priority.

The City of Quesnel would like to encourage residents to access Council Meetings through the City YouTube page as an alternative to attending proceedings in person. Video recordings will be uploaded the day after regularly scheduled Council Meetings.
