From the City of Williams Lake:
The Cariboo Memorial Complex has awarded a five-year beverage contract to Pepsico Canada. They will be the exclusive soft drink beverage supplier for the next five years at the Complex.
Pepsi has a large selection of products that fit the BC Public Buildings Guidelines for public buildings. As part of the new contract Pepsico will be providing a $2,500 annual exclusivity fund for the non-profit youth sports organizations at the Complex. Pepsi’s machines will replace the current Coke machines by the end of March.
“We are pleased to see that the Pepsi Beverages Company put in a bid that supports the Complex’s Healthy Food and Beverage Policy,” says Councillor Surinderpal Rathor, chair of the City’s Community Services portfolio. As per the BC Public Building Guidelines for Vending Machines, there will be a variety of fruit juices in the machines along with water and some diet beverages.
Having the machines comply with the Healthy Food and Beverage Policy adopted by the Central Cariboo Joint Committee will see the elimination of all sugar and caffeine added products from the beverage machines.
