Castlegar City Councillor blasts local parents for not showing to a meeting

In a very curious interview on CBC's Daybreak South - City of Castlegar Councillor Deb McIntosh blasted local parents for not showing up at a local meeting on possible school closures

I encourage everyone to listen to the interview.  I must say though - for a elected official to chide her fellow residents' for not showing up for a meeting is a bit much.  Parents, I can tell you, lead very busy lives these days so I'm not sure it was wise for Councillor McIntosh to blast her fellow residents' not showing up for a meeting on possible school closures.

A more wiser strategy would have been to encourage parents to show up to the meeting and those who could not show up should let their elected officials know, in advance of the meeting, how they (parents) feel on school closures so the elected officials from the City of Castlegar can advocate to the local School Board on their behalf

heres the problem, people bitch and moan about govt and politicans doing things without consultation, and no one ever shows up to the consultations presented, so what do you do. Good on the councillor for ripping into lszy psrents. Get unbusy, its important.
