Grant Applications Council approved City staff to submit the following grant applications: Dragon Hill Reservoir – Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program Of the six City reservoirs in use, the Dragon Hill reservoir is in the poorest condition, due for replacement, and identified in the five year Capital Plan. FireSmart Crews for Private Property – Jobs Creation Program Crew would be trained in FireSmart residential assessments, gain work experience in the field of fire mitigation, given personal/professional development opportunities, and complete certifications to enhance their employability while making a valuable contribution to the community. |
Property Disposition Policy – Abutting Lands Council has asked staff to identify surplus City-owned lands, and for staff to develop policies to guide decisions on property disposition processes. The Policy and Bylaw Committee is currently working on these policies with the first policy coming forward, Property Disposition Policy – Abutting Lands, that Council has now approved. Community Wildfire Protection Plan – Controlled Burning for Fuel Abatement Council approved the Forestry Initiatives Program’s controlled burning of fibre within City limits as part of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan. This fibre cannot be utilized for commercial purposes, and the controlled burning must meet provincial regulations. |
2021 Annual Quesnel City Council Meeting Schedule Council approved the 2021 Annual Quesnel City Council Meeting Schedule (“Schedule”). This Schedule will be advertised in the October 27 and November 4 editions of the Quesnel-Cariboo Observer newspaper, posted on the City’s website and posted in the Public Posting Areas at City Hall. In 2021, Regular Council meetings are scheduled, on average, twice per month and will hold Strategic Planning Sessions more often throughout the year on Tuesday evening’s. |
