Quesnel Riverfront Trail detour starting October 13, 2020

Courtesy of the City of Quesnel:

On October 13, 2020, a section of the Riverfront Trail will be closed for approximately two years to accommodate Phase II of the G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital Redevelopment. This same section was previously closed for Phase I of the redevelopment earlier this year and was able to reopen temporarily in May.

To ensure the safety of trail users, the City has created two detour options. Detour signage will be in place and direct users to Reid St with options to cross at Carson Ave and Front St or St Laurent Ave and Front St. View the detour map below. The closure will be in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Northern Health G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital project replaces the emergency department and redevelops the Intensive Care Unit. For more information about the hospital project and construction updates, visit Northern Health at https://www.northernhealth.ca/about-us/capital-projects/gr-baker-memorial-hospital-quesnel-bc-redevelopment#media-releases.
