Exactly 6 months or 180 days from now - people in the region will have gone to the polls to elect either:
1) 1 Mayor and 4 or 6 Councillors - 4 Councillors in 100 Mile and Wells & 6 Councillors in Williams Lake and Quesnel
2) 1 CRD Area Director for the 12 Electoral Areas of the Cariboo Regional District (in the event that 2 or more people file for 1 Electoral Area Directorship)
3) 1 School District #27 or #28 Trustee for a local zone (area) - 7 Zones (Areas) in SD #27
Good websites to watch for local government election details:
a) City of WL - http://www.williamslake.ca
b) City of Quesnel - http://www.quesnel.ca
c) District of Wells - http://www.district.wells.bc.ca
d) District of 100 Mile House - http://www.100milehouse.com
e) Cariboo Regional District - http://www.cariboord.bc.ca
f) School District #27 - http://www.sd27.bc.ca
g) School District #28 - http://www.sd28.bc.ca
I expect that those who are serious about running are likely talking to their neighbours/friends right now and solicting their support for the upcoming local government elections in November
I encourage people to watch for announcements in the local media about people running for various local government offices (Cities of Quesnel/WL, Districts of Wells/100 Mile House, CRD Board of Directors and SD #27/28), attend your local "all-candidates" forums and then come to the poll booth and make your appropriate choices.
Also - please show up to vote, even if you don't like the choices laid out before you in that polling booth.
