The Rush covers this story here
Quesnel City Council has named a new City Manager (CAO), and it's a name that should be familiar to Quesnel residents. Byron Johnson, who was Quesnel's City Manager for almost two years during 2009 and 2010, will return to the post, effective Aug. 1.
"Byron was a pleasure to work with during his first tenure with the City; the leadership he can provide our staff while carrying out City Council's mandate is outstanding, and I look forward to welcoming him back," said Quesnel Mayor Mary Sjostrom. "We have a number of high priority projects and issues to work through over Council's term, and we're eager to get to work on them."
Johnson returns to Quesnel after a stint as the Chief Administrative Officer with Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality. Prior to that he was the City of Quesnel's Director of Finance and Administration from November 2004 to December 2008, before being named City Manager in January 2009.
Two senior managers will continue to oversee the City's operations until August; those two are Director of Finance Kari Bolton and Director of Public Works and Engineering Ken Coombs.
