Your Williams Lake City Council will be considering the following items at its' meeting on Tuesday:
a) New Branding Project. Cost - $45,000 (part of BEAS Task Force 2012 Budget) - read more here
b) Council to reinstate cheque runs on its' meeting agenda, for information. It was removed under former Mayor Rick Gibson's Council. According to City Councillor Surinder Rathor, this is returning to allow Council to publicly question any cheque(s) that may concern a Councillor(s) or the Mayor. The Cariboo Regional District/Quesnel Council has this practice as well.
c) As a result of media and other inquiries - City Administrator (CAO) Brian Carruthers will report on contamination issues at the WL Regional Airport 'old Fire Training Area' - read more here
d) Requirement for a 'Restrictive Convenant' for a Carriage House proposal on Renner Rd is proposed to be withdrawn, at the recommendation of WL City Staff. This item is subject to a Public Hearing at 7pm on Tuesday. Read more here.
e) Approval for Capital Items at the WL Regional Airport is being sought - read more here/here
f) There is an information item from Steelworkers' on their campaign against raw logs being exported. I wonder if Council, at the urging of Councillor Rathor or even Councillor Bonnell, will pass a resolution of support to the Steelworkers' campaign. Read the Steelworkers' letter to Mayor/Council here
