BC Snow Survey - February 1st (Cariboo-Chilcotin Region)

Yesterday (February 8th, 2022) -- the BC River Forecast Centre yesterday its' Snow Survey results to February 1st, 2022 which you can read in full here

The Snow Survey measures the current snowpack as a percentage of normal snow levels received in the measured area in BC (by Basin area)

 The 3 Snow Basins that cover the entirety of the Cariboo Regional District are: 

* Quesnel 
* West Road/Chilcotin 
* North Thompson 

Quesnel covers the City of Quesnel, District of Wells, City of Williams Lake as well as Cariboo RD Areas A,B,C,D,E,F,I 

West Road/Chilcotin covers Cariboo RD Areas J/K 

North Thompson covers the District of 100 Mile House as well as Cariboo RD Areas G,H,L 

The Quesnel Snow Basin is currently 109% of normal snowpack. Last month (January 1st, 2022) - it was 115% of normal snowpack. At this time last year (2021) - it was 105% of normal snowpack 

The West Road/Chilcotin Snow Basin is currently 170% of normal snowpack. It was not able to be measured at January 1st, 2022. At this time last year (2021) - it was 131% of normal snowpack 

The North Thompson Snow Basin is currently is 118% of normal snowpack. Last month (January 1st, 2022) - it was 115% of normal snowpack. At this time last year (2021) - it was 100% of normal snowpack 

The next BC Snow Survey for March 1st, 2022 will be published on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022
