Cariboo RD Committee of the Whole Highlights - Feb 3rd, 2022 mtg

Present: Chair M. Wagner/Vice-Chair J. Massier; Directors Sjostrom, Bachmeier, Forseth, Delainey, LeBourdais, Richmond, Glassford, Kirby, Macdonald (11:14am), Simpson, Bonnell and Pinkney

Meeting called to order at 11:00am

The Chair recognized that the meeting was taking place on traditional Northern Secwepemc territory.. 

Meeting Agenda approved

Minutes of the Committee meeting held November 18th, 2021 were received and adopted

Delegation:

Josh Pressey, Lindsay Wood and Chris Swan, all from FLNRORD (Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resources Operations & Rural Development) appeared before the Committee to discuss the Provincial Old Growth Deferral Policy

A Question/Answer period ensued during the PowerPoint Presentation

Following the presentation and Q&A Session -- The Chair thanked the delegation for their time/information

Meeting recessed at 12:10pm

Meeting resumed at 1:00pm

Business:

1) Telecommunications Tower Siting Procedures 

A memo was presented to the Committee from the Manager of Planning Services

Discussion ensued thereon... 

Resolved - Memorandum received and Staff report back on options on an expanded policy for cell tower referrals including Crown referrals

Closed Committee Session:

At  1:38pm -- the Committee recessed its' Open Meeting to conduct an In-Camera Session, as per Sections 92 and 90(1c, 1i and 1k - labour, legal advice and negotiations) of the Community Charter

At -1:43pm - the Committee resumed its' Open Meeting 

The Committee of the Whole adjourned at 1:43pm
