Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb issued a message to his community last night, as follows:

Well its Tues night and just finished a council meeting. Also as of 6 o'clock tonight we lifted the alert for the city. After much consultation and discussion on events around us it was determand that the risk of harm to property or people within the city boudaries was at a low enough level to lift the alert. Our parks and trails with the exception of Boitanio park and Kiwanis playground are still off limits. The area is still very dry and we continue to ask that you be very cautious and if you see anything that looks like a fire to report it.
The smoke is still an issue but am told we will be dealing with that in one form or another probably until snow flies.
With the lifting of the order it will allow our hospital to also get back to full service.
So for now I will say good night but don't forget to pray for rain.

Finally - friendly reminder to continue to rely ONLY on official sources for Evacuation Alerts or Orders from your local government website or Facebook page or through the local media - Tribune (click here) or Vista Radio (click here).
