Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb issued a message to his community last night, as follows:
Well Friday night and all reports for the city are good. A couple fires out west and the Elephant fire still very active. Fire guards seem to be holding so far.
It was mixed bag weather wise today. Nice morning then smoke started rolling in then some rain (not enough) then cleared again.
Sounds like from the hospital point of view most of our seniors should be home by Monday.
Many local business have organized a welcome home get together tomorrow at 4pm in Boitanio Park. Let's all get together and see some of our old friends and make some new ones. We have an incredible community so let's celebrate and help make it even better by getting to know your neighbours' .
Finally - friendly reminder to continue to rely ONLY on official sources for Evacuation Alerts or Orders from your local government website or Facebook page or through the local media - Tribune (click here) or Vista Radio (click here).
