This evening - representatives from the BC Wildfire Branch, City of WL RCMP, Cariboo Regional District, City of Williams Lake, WL Indian Band, Cariboo-North/Cariboo-Cariboo MLA's and the Member of Parliament for Cariboo-Prince George were present as various status reports were made, in regards to the BC Wildfire Situation
After an Opening Prayer from Carol Archie from the Dog Creek/Canoe Creek Indian Band and an traditional welcome to the Williams Lake Indian Band territory from Chief Ann Louie. Updates were presented from the BC Wildfire Service, City of Williams Lake, Cariboo Regional District, MLA's for Cariboo-Chilcotin/Cariboo-North (Donna Barnett/Coralee Oakes) and Todd Doherty, MP for Cariboo-Prince George
Also - there was an announcement by Cariboo RD Area D Director Steve Forseth that the community of Wildwood that had been under evacuation order since early July was now downgraded to an evac alert, effective immediately
After the formal presentations -- I had several discussions with Area D residents and noted some items of concern which I plan to follow up in the next few days...
There was also various groups to get information and make connections which people were able to do...
Also a good turnout of people, both from the City and Rural Areas....
