Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb put out a message to his community yesterday evening, as follows:
Wednesday night. Nice day. A little smoke blew in about 5 but cleared up now. Only thing new was the lightening strike out Chimney Lake way but they have it under control. They did not say much about fires out west but the Elephant Lake one seems to still be causing problems.
We have opened up city parks except for the river valley. No ATV'S or dirt bikes yet. Still very dry so be very careful.
Another good day. Have a good night.
Finally - friendly reminder to continue to rely ONLY on official sources for Evacuation Alerts or Orders from your local government website or Facebook page or through the local media - Tribune (click here) or Vista Radio (click here).
