There is an election in November. Maybe its something I should consider. Our Mayor has sat on the fence and has gone as far as saying it would have little to no benefit for 100 Mile House. Hmm, lets see... If 10 ppl from 100 Mile were to work at Prosperity each making 100k per year, that would bring into 100 Mile House 1 million dollars. 1 mil to purchase a new truck, grocery shop, buy clothes and even purchase a home. Mitch doesn't get it. Its time for 100 Mile House to speak up. Vote for Len. LOLYou can read the full discussion here
In the last municipal election in 100 Mile House - Councillors Dave Mingo, Spence Henderson, Bill Hadden, Ralph Fossum were collectively acclaimed into office while their colleague, 100 Mile Mayor Mitch Campsall easily held off his competition in former Cariboo RD Area 'L' Director Maureen Pinkney being re-elected by a near 2-1 count
As elections are typically an opportunity to have a 'referendum' on the actions (or lack thereof) of the local municipal council - it'll be interesting to observe how residents' of 100 Mile House says their Municpal Council did on topics like 'New Prosperity' and if 'New Prosperity' alone will motivate to run & convince people to vote out the current 100 Mile Municipal Council and vote for 'fresh blood'…
My own 'educated' guess would be that voters' will look at the 'totality' of 100 Mile Muncipal Council's actions in this term (2011-2014) and measure that against those who are running (incumbents/challengers) and then make a decision...
