MMBC says Kamloops is out for 2014!

Yesterday - I reported that Kamloops Council was attempting to confirm a report that MMBC (Multi-Materials BC) was not proceeding with an arrangement with the City of Kamloops that would significantly reduce recycling fees for homeowners as of next year - read that here

Now - Kamloops This Week reports that MMBC Managing Director Allen Langdon has been in contact with City of Kamloops Public Works Director Jen Fretz and MMBC's stance is that because Kamloops Council did not sign up for the recycling subsidy deal with MMBC by the Sept 30th, 2013 deadline, Kamloops will not qualify for the subsidy arrangement but may qualify later if there is room to include Kamloops as per a waiting list - read more here

I can only imagine that Kamloops Council will not be pleased with this turn of events while municipalities like Williams Lake should not be affected by this as they indicated their approval by the required Sept 30th, 2013 deadline
