Local Gov't Mtgs - Wk of Sept 21-25

Next week - the following local governments of the Cariboo-Chilcotin will be meeting as follows:

Quesnel - Financial Sustainability/Audit Committee to take place on Tuesday, September 22 at 9am in the Fraser Room, Quesnel City Hall (4th Floor, 410 Kinchant St).  On the Agenda:

SD27 - Meeting of the Board of Education for School District #27 (Cariboo-Chilcotin) on Tuesday, September 22nd at 6:30pm via livestream.  Link can be accessed here

* Williams Lake - Special City Council Meeting on Tuesday, September 22nd at 6pm in WL Council Chambers (450 Mart St, Williams Lake).  When the Agenda is available, it can be viewed here

Finally - all BC Local Governments will be attending virtually the 2020 UBCM or Union of BC Municipalities Convention which would have been held in-person this year in the City of Victoria, BC.  The full Agenda can be viewed here.  The pre-Convention events start Monday afternoon with Municipal Finance Authority (local government banker) having its' semi-Annual Meeting followed by the AGM for the Municipal Insurance Association.  Cariboo RD Area G Director Al Richmond is Vice-Chair for the Municipal Finance Authority's Board of Trustees with formal proceedings to commence Tuesday, September 22nd am.  UBCM Resolutions which includes Area Associations' (NCLGA, SILGA, AKBLG,AVICC, LMLGA) will be debated Wednesday, September 23rd from 9am - 12pm.  UBCM Resolutions Book can be viewed here.  Also, annual elections to the UBCM Executive will be held.  Just the positions of Directors-at-Large(5), 3rd Vice President and Metro Vancouver Area rep will have a vote.  UBCM President, 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents' for 2020-21, Electoral Area rep and Small Community rep were acclaimed (unopposed) last month as they all had one person running for each of these offices.... 

Normally - Minister or Provincial Staff meetings are held in the same week as UBCM Convention Week but due to COVID-19, those were held this past week (Cariboo RD Area D had three -- one with ICBC, one with Ministry of Transportation/Infrastructure and one with RCMP)

As with last year -- I will complete daily meeting summaries..... and a Post Event Summary upon adjournment of the 2020 UBCM Convention on Thursday afternoon...
