At a speech given at today's First Nations Summit - BC Premier Christy Clark publicly called on Taseko Mines Ltd to work with local First Nations, like TNG and Xeni Gwet'in, to get their support for their recently submitted Prosperity Mine Proposal - see here
However, I find it unfortunate that Ms. Clark appears to be uninformed on this topic as Taseko has already said that they have tried to have a sit-down and dialogue with local First Nations like TNG and Joe Alphonse (TNG Tribal Chief) says a request to talk with TNG has never come through. With such diverse opinion on Prosperity Mine - I think any chance of a reasonable conversation on Prosperity Mine is virtually zero. I also find her comments interesting, given her local MLA Donna Barnett surely would have told her by now that people feelings in this region on Prosperity Mine have not changed since Ottawa shot down Taseko's original Prosperity Mine proposal, back in November of 2010 and aren't likely to change anytime soon
