As is tradition - the Central Cariboo Joint Committee which is made up of the CRD Directors of Areas D, E, F, J and K & all elected members of WL City Council will now meet over at the Rick Hansen Boardroom at WL City Hall after meeting for 6 months at the CRD Boardroom
Earlier this year - the Cariboo Regional District agreed to post all Joint Committee Agendas for North, Central and South as well as the North, Central and South Rural Directors' Caucus Agendas' as well and for that - I applaud CRD CAO Janis Bell and CRD Chair Al Richmond for that :)
However - now that the Central Cariboo Joint Agenda prep reverts to the City of Williams Lake - I call on Williams Lake Council to instruct their Staff to prepare and publish the Joint Committee Agenda to the same standard that the Cariboo Regional District does
This, coming from a City, who proclaimed itself as open during the Local Gov't Awareness Week in May.
People in the City of Williams Lake and in CRD Electoral Areas D, E, F, J and K have a right to know what their elected officials are up to at the Central Cariboo Joint Committee and not when the politicians deem it necessary
