Cariboo Fire Centre Daily Update - July 19th, 2023

Daily Update from the Cariboo Fire Centre:

1) Weather Overview

A weak upper ridge is building just to the east of the Fire Centre and will bring lower humidity and higher temperatures today.

Mostly clear conditions and light easterly winds are forecast in most zones, with some afternoon gustiness. Some limited thundershower activity is expected to develop later this afternoon/evening, with the Chilcotin/Quesnel/Williams Lake zones likely to see the most activity.

On Thursday, the upper ridge continues its drift eastward towards the Alberta Rockies as an intense low-pressure system off the central coast begins to influence the fire weather in the Cariboo. Temperatures will trend higher, generating more frequent crossovers at peak burning periods facilitating drying fuels.
