BC Family Day News...

From the City of Williams Lake:

The Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex will host a number of free family-focused events on Monday, Feb. 11 to celebrate Family Day.

The Complex will be open for a Public Skate from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., and during this time, skate rentals will be free. The concession will also offer free hot chocolate and hot dogs during the skate.

The pool will be open for a free Rec Swim from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., so length swimmers and fitness
centre users can get a workout and other family members can swim. Later in the afternoon, from 1:30 –
3:30 p.m., the Inflatable Iceberg will be in the water for families to enjoy. During an Everyone Welcome Swim.

The City received a $3,800 grant from the provincial government to assist in covering the costs of the events.

“Family Day was designed to offer us a chance to take a break and enjoy being with our loved ones, and I encourage everyone to come to the Complex and celebrate some active, fun time together in the pool or on the ice,” says Williams Lake Mayor Kerry Cook.

What are you doing on Family Day?

Bring your family down to the Arts and Recreation Centre to enjoy FREE swim and fitness classes on February 11 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

There will be games and prizes for the little ones, free weight room access for anyone over 15 years of age and a family fitness class at 2:00 p.m. (must be 12 years and older).

This day is for you and your family, enjoy it.
