Cariboo RD Area 'F' Director
Brice O’Neill is declaring his intention to run for Cariboo Regional District Director for Area “F”. Mr. O’Neill, who has spent his entire life in the Cariboo, hopes to bring his experience and his voice to the Regional District Board.

Many people will recognize him from his extensive volunteer activities in our area including work with the Child Development Centre and various local boards including the Boys & Girls Club and most recently as the Trustee Vice-Chair for School District 27.

Mr. O’Neill states, “I want to put the political experience that I have received over the past several years to work for the residents of the area. Having spent much of my growing up years in Area “F”, I know I can be a voice for the people living here.”

He also believes very strongly that voters need someone who has experience and is able to navigate the political system. He notes that several issues in Area “F” have attracted his attention and desire to help. Fire, water issues, social and economic development for several of the smaller communities in the area are all requiring a strong voice at the Government level.

One of his main focuses if elected, will be working towards bringing a stronger communication system for the area including access to high-speed internet. He notes, “Modern communication is vital for emergency services for people living in these more remote locations. In addition, the ability of local businesses to be productive in this day and age require high-speed access. Folks simply can’t be without it and I plan on fighting for it.”

He states he is never afraid to speak up for anyone needing assistance and plans to continue that roll if elected. “I also want to recognize Joan Sorley’s hard work and dedication during her time as Director.” He continues, “She has been a dedicated voice for the area and she leaves big shoes to fill.”

On a personal note, Mr. O’Neill is the proud father of two school age daughters and has been the Executive Chef at New World Café for the past nine years
