Evac Order and Alerts - Reduced for Narcosli Area and lifted in Area B

 Effective immediately, the Cariboo Regional District has reduced the boundaries for the evacuation alert north and west of Quesnel in Electoral Area B and the evacuation order and alert south of Quesnel in the Narcosli Creek area. The changes are based on recommendations from the BC Wildfire Service due to a reduced risk from theNarcosli Creek wildfire.
 
The evacuation order for the Narcosli Creek area has been reduced, with 10 properties being downgraded to an alert. Twenty-three properties remain on evacuation order (Southwest Narcosli Creek Area #2) due to remaining concerns on part of the Narcosli Creek wildfire. The evacuation alert remains in place for 985 properties in the Narcosli Creek area (Narcosli Creek Evacuation Alert #3), which includes the Narcosli Creek and West Fraser communities.
 
The evacuation alert for 1,558 properties in Electoral Area B has been lifted to all clear, including Bouchie Lake and Milburn Lake. An evacuation alert (Electoral Area I Boundary West to Michelle Bazaeko FSR Evacuation Alert) remains in place for 623 properties, including the Nazko, Baker Creek and Blackwater communities.

Wildfires remain active and firefighting activities continue in the area. It is important for residents to stay out of active wildfire areas. Interfering in an active fire area will result in crews ceasing ground and air operations potentially endangering nearby properties.
 
Remaining on Evacuation Alert
 
For the areas remaining on evacuation alert, residents should remain prepared for an evacuation by:

• Having a plan to transport all family members or co-workers outside the area, should the area be brought back under evacuation order.
• Keeping essential items readily available for a quick departure, including medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (i.e. insurance), immediate care needs for dependents and, if you choose, keepsakes (photographs, etc).
• Ensuring that any dependents are prepared for departure. 
• Ensuring that pets and livestock remain in a safe area. 
• Ensuring that you have accommodation options for your family, if possible. A Reception Centre will be made available again if required.
• Monitoring reliable news sources for evacuation order information. Further information will be issued as it becomes available.
