From the BC Wildfire Service/Cariboo Fire Centre:
There are currently 83 active wildfires within the Cariboo Fire Centre, with five fires being called out yesterday, all within the 100 Mile Fire Zone.
Five new wildfires were discovered in the Cariboo Fire Centre since yesterday. The largest of these is located north of Quesnel Lake near Roaring River Valley and is estimated to be 1000 hectares. The fire activity was low as this is located in the high alpine. One new fire was discovered near Hendrix Ridge in the 100 Mile Fire Zone and is estimated at 110 hectares. Two new fires were discovered near Bald Face Mountain approximately 1 kilometre apart. These fires are both estimated at 80 hectares in size (C12594 and C52606).
The fire danger rating in the Cariboo Fire Centre is currently ‘high’ throughout the western portion of the fire centre with pockets of ‘extreme’ and is ‘low’ for the majority of the eastern portion with pockets of ‘moderate’ along the Fraser River. There is extensive smoke throughout the fire centre this morning. We are anticipating mainly sunny weather with highs in the mid to upper 20s and winds in variable directions today.

Shag Creek (C11837)
The Shag Creek wildfire is west of Shag Creek and north of the Itcha mountains. It is estimated at 8410 hectares. The fire at this time is being closely monitored by the Cariboo Fire Centre. An Evacuation Order has been implemented by the Cariboo Regional District for properties in the Shag Creek area. The Blackwater River fire is east of Blackwater River in the Nazko area. It is mapped at 4519 hectares.
There are eight personnel, one helicopter, and six pieces of heavy equipment on site. Ground crews will be working to establish guard on the east flank today. Narcosli Creek (C12302)
The Narcosli Creek fire is located north of Tzenzaicut Lake, west of the Fraser River. It is estimated at 3788 hectares and has 30 per cent containment. There are 104 firefighters, five helicopters and ten pieces of heavy equipment on site. Yesterday, successful burn operations were completed to remove unburned fuels from the fires’ path. The fire is now 80 per cent guarded around the fires’ perimeter. Night operations with heavy equipment and ground crews worked throughout the night. Crews will focus on strengthening containment lines on the west and south flanks. An Evacuation Alert and Order has been implemented by the Cariboo Regional District for properties in the West Quesnel area. Mayfield Lake (C22371)
The Mayfield Lake fire is located northwest of Mayfield Lake. It is estimated at 300 hectares and is now 100 per cent contained. There are 65 firefighters, two helicopters and six pieces of heavy equipment are on site. Crews are working on mop up in the south and western flanks. Controlled ignitions are planned today for the north flank and a portion of the east flank. An Evacuation Alert has been implemented by the Cariboo Regional District for properties in the Mayfield Lake area. Horsefly Lake (C31678)
The Horsefly Lake fire is located north of Horsefly Lake and west of Haggens Point Road. It is estimated at 1100 hectares and is 90 per cent contained. There are 32 firefighters, eight pieces of heavy equipment and three helicopters on site. Ground crews continue to build guard on the east flank. They are also working to secure west flank by continuing to build guard and removing fuel between the fire and the guard. Crews are establishing a wet line on the west flank and hosing the interior.
Lang Lake (C42138)
The Lang Lake fire is east of the north end of Lang Lake. It is estimated at 440 hectares and 70 per cent contained. There are five firefighters and four pieces of heavy equipment on site. Ground crews will continue working to gain containment around the perimeter, focusing on the southern flank of the fire. An Evacuation Alert and Order has been implemented by the Cariboo Regional District for properties in the Lang Lake Murphy Lake area. The Houseman Road fire is located southwest of Buffalo Lake and about 13 kilometres east of the community of 100 Mile House. It is mapped at 19.5 hectares and 100 per cent contained. There are 21 personnel on site. The fire is in Being Held status and ground crews continue to mop up hot spots within the perimeter. The Evacuation Order has been changed to an Evacuation Alert by the Cariboo Regional District for properties in the Houseman Road area. There are 44 firefighters, one helicopter, and five pieces of heavy equipment on site. This fire received rain yesterday and crews are working to establish hose lines around the perimeter. This fire is now considered to be in Being Held status. Crews are making good progress and are establishing hose lines and extinguishing hot spots. The fire has been pushing east towards a natural guard created by the previously burned Elephant Hill fire from 2017. The Evacuation Order was rescinded; however, the Evacuation Alert remains in place by the Thompson Nicola Regional District for properties near the Bonaparte Plateau, including properties on Hutchinson Road. The Wild Goose Lake fire is west of Meadow Lake and west of the community of Clinton. It is estimated at 7228 hectares and is 40 percent contained. It is 50 per cent guarded; crews are patrolling the eastern flank and securing the southern flank. Crews have been establishing containment lines, hose lines, and are working on danger tree assessing and falling. An Evacuation Alert and Order has been implemented by the Thompson Nicola Regional District and Cariboo Regional District for properties surrounding Wild Goose Lakes. Quesnel Fire Zone
There are 21 active wildfires burning in this zone. There are three fires Being Held, seven fires Under Control and 11 fires in Out of Control status.
The fire in North Baezaeko, south of Kluskoil Lake Park is estimated at 1000 hectares. This fire merged with another fire that was in close proximity.
The Yuzkli Lake fire is south of Big Valley Creek and estimated at 40 hectares. There are no communities or structures are threatened at this time.
The fire west of Mustang Lakes is estimated at 100 hectares. This fire is in steep terrain that is inaccessible to ground crews.

The Quartz Mountain fire is estimated at 700 hectares. This fire is being monitored closely by the BC Wildfire Service.
The Boulderly Creek fire, located on the east arm of Quesnel Lake is estimated at 80 hectares. This fire is being monitored closely by the BC Wildfire Service.
The fire east of Warttig Lake is estimated at 50 hectares. This fire is being monitored closely by the BC Wildfire Service.
The Tisdal Lake fire is estimated at six hectares. This fire is being monitored closely by the BC Wildfire Service.
The wildfire East of Mitchell Lake is estimated at 5.5 hectares. This fire is being monitored closely by the BC Wildfire Service.
