Voters in the City of Quesnel will elect a mayor and six councillors when local government and school district elections take place on Saturday Nov. 19, 2011.
. A resident of British Columbia for at least six months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed.
. Not disqualified by the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or from being nominated for, being elected to, or holding office.

Those interested in seeking election in the City of
Quesnel as either mayor or councillor may now pick up nomination packages.
The nomination packages are available at City Hall (410
Kinchant St.) during regular business hours. Candidates must complete the
nomination forms and return them to the Chief or Deputy Chief Election
Officers. These packages must be received between 9 a.m. on Tuesday Oct. 4 and
4 p.m. on Friday Oct. 14, 2011.
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to
hold office as a member of local government if they are:
